22nd Annual AUGUST INSTITUTE "The future is now; teach for it!"
August 5-7, 2020 (Important change: The WMPLC board has determined that because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the August Institute will be held virtually instead of at Missoula College this year. While we are all disappointed, we felt it important to guard the safety and health of all of the participants.
We are excited by the possibilities of hosting a virtual conference! Since the August Institute focuses on the use of technology in the classroom, this is a great opportunity to use the strategies the amazing presenters will bring to you. We are excited to highlight virtual instruction as we recognize that the best learning happens when students feel socially and emotionally connected and have good relationships with teachers. We’d like to showcase how to avoid anxiety and use technology to engage students for success in the classroom.
As we transition to this new format, you will receive updates, materials and instructions on how the conference will work. We will be using the Zoom video conferencing platform. You will need a good internet connection and a device with camera, microphone, and speakers if possible.
Thank you again for your flexibility in this time. Check your email often because we will be in touch. ‘See you’ in August!
