
Mandated Reporter Training:
The requirements in Montana statute regarding the reporting of alleged child abuse and/or neglect.
This 2-hour Zoom workshop will cover the requirements for those designated as mandatory reporters, as well as the processes associated with making a report to Child and Family Services.

Intended Audience:
Teachers, Care-Givers, Counselors, Administrators
Intended Outcomes: Participants will participate in an overview of the legal requirements for those designated as mandatory reporters, as well as the processes associated with making a report to Child and Family Services. Participants will also have time for questions and clarification on their entities role and responsibilities. Participants will leave the course with resources for future reference.
Equipment: Laptop computer with an internet connection
Presenter: Ike Jessee is the Training Development Supervisor for DPHHS-Child and Family Services Division (CFSD). In this role, Ike has the responsibility of providing the initial training for field staff, referred to as Montana Child Abuse and Neglect (MCAN), as well as providing follow up training to staff in the implementation of CFSD practice and procedures. Ike also develops, and implements, trainings for community stakeholders, law enforcement, schools and has partnered with the Office of Public Instruction and the University of Montana to assist in the development of sex abuse awareness training for school staff statewide as well as Mandated Reporter training for school staff in an online platform.
Prior to his role as the Training Development Supervisor, Ike worked as a Child Protection Specialist Supervisor, based in CFSD Region II, and supervised Child Protection Specialist staff in the Havre and Great Falls CFSD field offices. Ike came to CFSD from the criminal justice field, previously working as a Sheriff’s Deputy and Prevention Specialist in Jefferson County, a youth corrections officer, and police officer for the City of Fort Benton.
Ike holds a bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science from the, then, University of Great Falls. Outside of his work for CFSD, Ike is a basketball official, officiating youth, high school, small college, and NCAA Division 1 Women’s basketball.
Ike lives in Belt, Montana with his spouse, Sahrita, and their three children, Brooke, Zoe, and Emersyn.
