Hello! My name is Kelsey McGill, and I’m so excited to be a part of MSSA and WMPLC as a Mental Health Resource Navigator! Before joining the team, I’ve accumulated 10 years working in various educational settings. I’m a graduate of the University of Montana with a Master’s in Counselor Education, as well as a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Candidate. Throughout my internship and post-graduate work, I’ve focused on rural mental health services in Montana serving as a School Counselor in a variety of rural locations.
In my experience, I find that the best way to support each child is from a strengths-based approach, meaning the child builds upon their innate skills and values which help them through the challenges they face. I highly value collaborating with families and school staff to consider the most optimal care to support each child. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, my door is always open.
When I’m not wearing my counselor hat, I’m usually trail running, backpacking, playing with my pup, or spending some quality time with people I care about.
Warmly,
Kelsey McGill (she/her)
