Mindful Practices for Educators
With Kate Crouch
8 hr online course
4 A-synchronistic lectures you can watch on your own (YouTube Channel using session link)
1 personal synchronistic meeting with Kate Crouch (Zoom)
Investment in yourself: $275 registration fee

In this program you will learn tools and techniques for personal and professional use. Classes are designed to go at your own pace. Each session will require completion of a short assignment before you receive the next one. You can expect to develop a personal mindfulness practice and build confidence to share your practice and tools with your students. Please remember that this is just a taste of what can grow as you continue to practice. Each of us learns best in a different way.  This course uses multiple modalities of mindfulness in an effort to connect in the best way with your learning style and the learning styles of your students.

A-synchronistic videos will be privately posted to my YouTube Channel. You will receive the session link in an email once you enroll. Assignments/ reflections will be shared with me through email privately as well. We will set up your 1:1 video chat with me though my secure ZOOM account. I hope you will join me as we explore and practice with curiosity and joy!

Session 1
Introduction to mindfulness:
In this session we will discuss the fundamentals of mindfulness and  the value of incorporating mindfulness into your daily life. With guidance from Kate you will explore and experience techniques of mindfulness. You will participate in a personal practice and learn ways to bring those techniques to your students. You can expect an overview of the concepts and will take away 3 tools to use immediately.  Each participant will begin to create a repertoire of mindful activities for personal use.

Session 2
Mindful movement:
Movement is essential for a healthy body and mind. Mindful movement combines breath techniques and body awareness. In this class you will practice sets of movements for Focus, Well-being, Confidence and Positivity. Sometimes the idea of using the classroom as a movement space can feel like chaos. Participants will learn how to set up and language for safely moving in the classroom.

Session 3
Mindful Meditations:
Developing a mindfulness practice involves some amount of meditation.  Meditation may sound like a big feat but with practice is attainable for everyone.  In this session we will practice different types of meditations suitable for all.  Meditations for slowing the body, focusing the mind and calming the heart. You will come away with 3 meditations that you can begin to practice with  your students on a regular basis.

Session 4
Mindful Transitions/ Gratitude:
In our fast paced lives it is easy to forget how many transitions we encounter in our day. Between school, class and home, family and even conversations. This session will focus on developing a meaningful practice in gratitude to assist in daily transitions. Taking time to be grateful is proven to reduce stress and build resilience to life’s challenges. We will use journaling, meditation and mindful awareness to build this skill.  Each participant will create their own gratitude journal and come away with tools to assist students with transitioning.

Session 5
Mindful Communication:
Not only what we say but how we carry ourselves and what we project is a part of communicating with others. The more awareness we have of how we are communicating the more effective we can become as educators. Mindful communication skills will be discussed and practiced. Participants will begin to develop an effective mindful language.

All courses are open to beginners and seasoned practitioners. Come prepared to share, play and be mindful!
