Stacy York Training for Early Childhood Educators, Staff, and Parents Who: Early childhood providers, caregivers, staff and parents of young children (birth to age 8)
(This workshop will be held at a different location/venue. Please see below.)
What: An afternoon and evening with trauma-informed specialist Stacy York. Stacy started doing social work when she was in the seventh grade and one of her best friends was going through something difficult with her family. She leaned on Stacy for support and the “rest is history.” She continued her journey into college and found out that she could make a career out of helping people. This allowed her to build on her natural strengths. She stumbled upon working with traumatized, abused, and neglected children in 2000 when she became a mentor to a young boy whose family was in complete chaos. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology Education at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, she went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Walla Walla University. She became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Montana (License # 703) and then transferred her license to the State of Colorado when her family relocated there (License #2073).
During this full day of instruction and planning, Stacy will guide those who care for our youngest population of children through information to become trauma-informed to better support children by: --recognizing the need and importance of trauma-informed practices --learning trauma-informed practices for supporting young children --creating classroom or home structures that support trauma-informed practices --creating support systems for teams of adults who work with and provide care for young children
