October 18 & 19, 2018 Times: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Presenter: Dianne Fowler, M.ED. Location: Montec Building, 1121 East Broadway, Missoula, MT Registration: $75 per person or $25 for University students in the Teacher Education Program 6 OPI renewal units per day Course Number: 18530002 Goals: Increase teacher awareness of the diversity and needs of gifted students. Provide teachers with hands on classroom strategies/resources for taking it up a notch for gifted and all students. In this 2-day course, participants will consider the diversity of giftedness and retool with hands on classroom strategies for taking it up a notch for gifted and all students. Half day sessions will include: October 18: A.M. - The Diversity of Giftedness: Calvin, the Unexpected Gifted Kid (article by Ian Byrd)/ Categories of Gifted Characteristics (KOI- Kingore Observation Inventory) P.M.- Upping the Level of Classroom Challenge: KOI Strategies, Strategies and More Strategies! October 19: A. M. Differentiation using Kaplan Icons of Depth and Complexity P.M. - Upgrading Questioning for Complexity and Depth Anticipated teacher attendance.
