WMPLC is partnering with Univision
If your school district is looking for an alternative, affordable, and easy platform to use for distance learning with your teachers and students, consider working with Univision, of Missoula, MT, and WMPLC, to get you started with the tools you need to have online classrooms using Moodle.
Univision will create your online domain and school Moodle landing page. That's when WMPLC is available to assist you by creating classrooms for your teachers, giving teachers usernames and passwords, coaching staff on how to enter assignments, videos, etc. We can even enter student usernames and passwords. Just let us know what you need and we will assist you, at cost, to get your distance learning courses up and running in no time. Students can utilize their textbooks at home and teachers can post assigments on the Moodle for them each week. Teachers can embed or insert links to instructional videos. The director of WMPLC utilized Moodle classrooms for over a decade with her Elementary and Junior High students. She and our staff are available to assist you. ![]() Educational IT Advantage March 31, 2020 Special Edition Announcement COVID-19 Remote Teaching Relief Partnering with Western Professional Learning Collaborative (WMPLC) is the fastest way Univision can help rural school districts address remote learning. Moodle is a proven open-source teaching platform that has been around for some time. Some Montana educational organizations have been using it before COVID-19. It’s our understanding the University of Montana utilizes it to some extent. Univision will setup and maintain the IT aspects of a Moodle environment. This is inclusive of DNS resolution associated with a domain students can key into their browsers for internet access. We were in a rush to make this offering available to rural Montana School Districts in time to meet OPI targeted home learning dates. Pressed for time the following cost schedule for hosting applies: Moodle Environment One Time Setup Fee: $200 Monthly Hosting and Maintenance Fee: $100 Most rural school districts will not tax our equipment or bandwidth. In the event a school district does tax our service, prices may be subject to change. After acquiring a suitable Moodle hosting environment from Univision, school districts are encouraged to contact Daisy Carlsmith of WMPLC. WMPLC is ready to assist the configuration issues associated with inputting the various actual class curriculums. It’s our understanding WMPLC is willing to provide this service at cost and willing to provide staff training. Univision is cautioning that cloud teaching platforms are only one component of remote learning. We would like to offer assistance with the full list:
